Advice from Investment News here does not look too clever this weekend: Nouveau World Wines Ltd were raided by the fraud squad on Thursday (see here) and Morgan Aston Ford Ltd are facing the threat of being struck off – see below. MAF's accounts have been overdue since 24th April 2008 and the company return has been overdue since 4th February 2009.

Morgan Aston Ford are now masquerading as Vinance Plc, so I assume they would not be overly concerned with their old company being struck off
ReplyDeleteOn their website Vinance PLC make it clear that they used to be Morgan Aston Ford. I'm surprised they have not closed down Morgan Aston Ford in accordance with UK company law by filing returns and accounts. Instead they are currently threatened with being struck off for non-compliance by Companies House by failing to file accounts and returns as required by company law. I would have thought that detracts from the credibility of the new plc
ReplyDeleteMAF charge a 25% commission (they make this admirably clear). However, my advice is not to pay a commission when buying. The crucial test is how to the prices compare on wine-searcher.com with those of other merchants.
Vinance PLC is not located at 90 Queen Victoria Street in Ottawa. Mail is returned.
ReplyDeleteI have had a very negative experience dealing with this broker (Vinance plc, formerly Morgan Aston Ford).
ReplyDeleteI have posted it on my blog:

Hopefully it will prevent someone else making the same kind of mistake.
Anybody else still dealing with them?
