Finbow Wines Ltd: Met Police arrest Billy Davies

 Billy Davies

Billy Davies was arrested by officers from the Met on Tuesday. He was held in police custody overnight and appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was remanded in custody pending trial. He was cited as an alleged conspirator in Count Four – conspiracy to defraud in relation to Finbow Wines Ltd.

I assume that his trial will be at Southwark Crown Court.

  1. Anon. Although your question about the WIA is apposite, this is not the right place, so I have posted your comment separately.

    1. As I have no wish to prejudice the trial there will not be further comments apart from giving dates of the trial

    2. If you don't want to prejudice his trial with others shouldnt the whole Finbow blog now be removed until after their trial Jim?! Doesn't seem fair to me that it stays! I'm sure it won't be deleted though will it Jim?

    3. Anon thanks for this. It all depends upon whether there are any reporting restrictions. There weren't any during the trial, so I posted what was said in open court.

    4. However, given that all jury members are supposedly restricted from reading 3rd party media information we all know they still do - so surely this will not be a fair trial for Billy!

    5. Anon. My understanding is that jury members are warned about researching the case in which they are involved. They have to base their judgment on the evidence that is presented in court. I'm impressed that you are certain that all juries ignore this restriction.
